Pusha T Says Birdman Inspired "New God Flow"
The G.O.O.D. Music MC reveals why he aimed his fiery lyrics at the Cash Money boss.

Pusha T's beef with Lil Wayne and Drake is well documented, but the G.O.O.D. Music spitter says it was actually Cash Money head honcho Birdman who inspired him to write his most potent recent battle cry, "New God Flow." In a recent interview with Hip Hop Wired, Pusha said he read something Birdman said in an interview that set him off.
"'New God Flow' was about, in my view, something I read in a Birdman interview that I didn't like," he said. "He said something like, 'G.O.O.D. Music isn't nothing' and it had nothing to do with Wayne or Drake per se. That was Birdman saying whatever he wanted to say and that was the basis of where all of my lines came from."
Pusha said that, in his own estimation, he's probably quicker to retaliate to insults than other members of G.O.O.D. Music.
"I just refuse to be talked about. I will not be disrespected and anyone I stand next to won’t be disrespected," he said. "I take things a certain way. I take interviews in magazines personal and sh-t, when you say G.O.O.D Music ain't nothing. Like I take sh-- like that sensitive."
Still, the Clipse rapper said that his issues with Cash Money don't go beyond rap and that he bares no personal animosity toward any of that crew's members.
"I don't have no ill will towards none of them, man. Really, I don't," he said. "I know for sure that their wills towards me is way iller than mine towards them. I know that."
